Healing Starts In Your Digestive System
Leaky gut syndrome. Food intolerance. SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). Autoimmune Disorders, Yeast, Fungal & Parasitic Infections. Food allergies. Acid Reflux. Constipation. Bloating. Constipation. IBS.
Your gut is home to trillions of beneficial bacteria. You have 10 times more of these bacteria in your gastrointestinal system than you have cells in your body. This highly sophisticated system is where 80% of your immune system resides. 95% of your body's serotonin (the "feel good" hormone), is found, not in the brain, but in your gut.
Are you experiencing these symptoms?
GAS, BLOATING, STOMACH PAIN OR CRAMPING,
DIARRHEA AND/OR CONSTIPATION,
IBS OR INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE,
FOOD ALLERGIES OR INTOLERANCE, CHRONIC ILLNESS
Integrative Health Coach
As an Integrative Health Coach who specializes in digestive wellness and gut health I focus on women who are health conscious and proactive, but still suffer from the unpleasant effects of gut dysfunction, including but not limited to poor digestion, hormonal imbalance, skin issues, anxiety, depression, fatigue, allergies, insomnia and brain fog.
I help clients to overcome issues such as candida, eliminate chronic bloating, control Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), manage stress, establish healthy thoughts and achieve glowing skin. I begin with a comprehensive review of my clients’ health history, setting manageable goals, and creating an accountability system to examine and review these goals on an ongoing monthly basis.
I will support you in reclaiming your power to get truly healthy by attacking and eliminating your health issues at the root. I will teach you how to activate and support your body’s detoxification systems, while using food for fuel.
Personally, I have overcome candida, as well as consistent sugar cravings, food addiction and food sensitivities. I have dealt with gut issues since childhood. I recall needing to go to the nurse's office at school as a child with stomaches. Looking back I remember the sharp pains, belly bloat, and malaise (depression) I experienced. I've since learned the many rounds of antibiotics I received as a child for strep throat as well as a dairy intolerance contributed to these "stomaches." I have been dealing with the consequences for years. Since becoming more in tune with my body, and the bodies of my clients, I have been able to use food to literally change and save peoples’ lives, one gut at a time.
My health journey has led me down a path of ongoing healing and continued education and empowerment that I am eager to share with others.
Disease Begins in the Gut
Very often the gut may be at the root of your chronic symptoms. Reflux or heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and colitis are some of the symptoms many suffer from today. In fact, belly problems account for more than 100 million doctor's visits and billions in health-care costs.
Our gut health is critical to overall health and an unhealthy gut contributes to a wide range of chronic diseases. Inflammatory foods, low fiber intake, stress, chronic infections, and antibiotics and other medications are just some of the ways the gut microbiome can be disrupted.
Our gut and our brain are highly connected. Our brain talks to our gut; our gut talks to our brain. When our behavior changes in a certain way, our brain sends a message that changes our gut bacteria, causing low-grade inflammation and possible GI distress. Over 90 percent of our serotonin is produced in the gut. Serotonin is best known for it's role in the brain. Without adequate amounts of serotonin we have insomnia and are depressed.
Food Sensitivities, Intolerances, and Leaky Gut
It is estimated that 10 to 20 percent of us have food sensitivities. Although almost any food can cause a food sensitivity reaction, beef, citrus, dairy products, egg, corn, pork, and wheat provoke 80 percent of them. Some people have food intolerances to sugars or specific carbohydrates in certain foods. This means that they lack the enzymes that are needed to digest them. The most common ones include gluten, lactose, and fructose.
The first step in healing the gut is avoiding the disruptive factors that harm the gut microbiome and gut barrier. We will work together to find the root cause of your digestive distress, so you can find relief and begin to heal and reap the benefits of a healthy gut microbiome without harmful pharmaceutical interventions.
Brooke Lord is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable and listened intently to every concern and symptom I was having. She worked with me to develop a plan to best suit me and it worked! I feel better than I have in 8 years! I enjoyed utilizing the online portal which made communication and refilling prescriptions very easy. We video chatted for our initial meet-up, it was very thorough and she wrote me out a very individualized protocol. She was readily available when I had questions and did not leave me in the dark about anything. I am confident having my health in Brooke’s hands.
